Advanced Materials for Supercapacitors

Abstract

100The exciting development of advanced nanostructured materials has driven the rapid growth of research in the field of electrochemical energy storage (EES) systems, which are critical to a variety of applications ranging from portable consumer electronics, hybrid electric vehicles, to large industrial scale power and energy management. In this view, this chapter deals about the advanced nanostructures materials development toward the electrodes for supercapacitors. After a short introduction of energy storages systems, the various types of supercapacitor electrode materials and its properties are discussed and explained.
