Abstract

The Centurion laser system is a zigzag optical path, slab1 geometry, Nd:YAG laser system that has been operated as an oscillator and amplifier for subnanosecond pulses. The device was used to examine effects of pump uniformity, single-sided pumping, intrinsic YAG optical quality, and internal parasitics. This system has also been used to investigate the single-sided pumping of a zigzag slab.
