EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH ON MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF BASALT FIBER REINFORCED CONCRETE

Year: 2020 Journal:   Journal of Critical Reviews Vol: 7 (13)

Abstract

Basalt fiber, which is praised for its non-contaminative omnipotence,is a natural inorganic non-metallic material.BFRC of which mechanical properties has a good improving with basalt fiber wrapped with grout and then mixed with concrete. The results showed that, with the dosage increase of basalt fiber, the compressive strength especially the early strength of BFRC enhanced clearly,so do the splitting tensile strength, flexural strength. It is showed from the SEM pictures that the status of basalt fiber adhered to cement paste is well, and the porosity ration of concrete is low.Besides, the reason why basalt fiber has effect on mechanical properties of concrete was also analyzed.
