Effect of La2O3 Doping on Conductivity in the ZrO2 - Sc2O3 - CeO2 System

Abstract

The effect of La doping on conductivity of ZrO2 - Sc2O3 - CeO2 system was studied. The presence of the hysteresis loop was showed and connected with the polymorphic transformation from the ortorhombohedral phase to the cubic phase. 0,5 mol. % La2O3 doping replaces the hysteresis loop in a region of high temperatures. The received results is discussed in borders of the baric model for the ionic conductivity of zirconium oxide which assumes the control character for the influence of the hydrostatic pressure on the diffusion mobility of oxygen ions.
