An improved infrastructure assisted V2P protocol for VANETs

Abstract

To cope with challenging communication conditions in VANETs where connectivity is intermittent, and the quality of wireless channel is unstable and communication links are easily broken, we present an improved infrastructure assistant vehicle-to-passenger (V2P) protocol was proposed. The proposed protocol can reach very high query efficiency and matching accuracy with low delivery delay and communication overhead by sharing the vehicles information among roadside units in the same section to quickly and precisely find out matched target vehicles for passengers. The simulation results indicate that the improved V2P protocol performs well.
