eSim software for web-enabled distributed analysis and simulation

Abstract

is an approach to achieve a distributed analysis and simulation capability using the Internet. provides the distributed analysis capability via a general purpose simulation Web server. With eSim, any simulation can be executed, input parameters entered, and results viewed either in text format, graphically or via animation from a standard Web browser. Additional software and modifications to existing simulations are not required. eSim1 provides the capability for man-in-theloop distributed simulation by adding an interactive feature to eSim. With eSim the user can change simulation parameters while the simulation is executing, and observe the corresponding change in response from the Web browser window. It also provides the capability to run the simulation in real-time mode. Examples are presented to illustrate and eSim1 features and capabilities. The homepage can be accessed at http://www.jsc.draper.com/esim which hosts various examples of Web enabled simulations.
