Surface enhanced Raman scattering using the “hottest” hot spots only

Abstract

We report SERS of single molecules residing exclusively in the hottest hot spots on silver or gold nanoaggregates or on a fractal surface of those metals and discuss the ultimate spectroscopic potential of such experiments.
