Synthesis of Propargylamines with Fe3O4 Nanoparticles

Abstract

Magnetically separable Fe3O4 nanoparticles catalyzed the three-component coupling of aldehydes 1, amines 2, and terminal alkynes 3 to afford the corresponding propargylamines 4 (18 examples, up to 92% yield, eq. 1). The reaction of 1,3-diethynylbenzene, cyclohexanecarboxaldehyde, and piperidine gave mono- and disubstituted products 4g and 4h in a ratio of 1:3 (eq. 2).
