Reactivity of Acrylic-Melamine Resin High Solids Coatings and Physical Properties of Cured Films

Abstract

FT-IRの反射測定により, 焼付時のアクリル・メラミン樹脂クリヤー塗料の反応性を連続的に測定した。さらに対応する焼付条件で硬化塗膜の物性を測定した。スルフォン酸触媒含有系では, 加熱時にまずアクリル樹脂の水酸基とメラミン樹脂のメトキシ基のエーテル交換反応を主として生じ, そののち, 焼付温度が120℃以上, OCH3/OH>1の条件下で, メラミン樹脂間の自己縮合反応を生じる。OCH3/OH=2.8の系では, ヌープ硬度, 架橋密度と反応した相対反応OCH3量の関係は, OCH3/OH=1に屈曲点をもつ2直線として表され, 反応率との関係をよく反映した。OCH3/OH=1の系では, すべてのメトキシ基は水酸基とエーテル交換反応を生じ, 反応完了後は物性の焼付時間依存性は認められなかった。また, 供試したブロック化触媒は120℃以下でエーテル交換反応に対する抑制効果を示した。
