Gilbert damping constants of Ta/CoFeB/MgO(Ta) thin films measured by optical detection of precessional magnetization dynamics

Abstract

The authors present a comparative study of magnetization dynamics in Ta/CoFeB/MgO and Ta/CoFeB/Ta tunnel junctions using time-resolved magneto-optical Kerr effect. CoFeB/MgO magnetic tunnel junctions have recently received significant attention as candidates for spintronics applications.
