The high- T c superconductivity of the Y x Er 1- x Ba 2 Cu 3 O 6+ y system has been investigated in terms of the resistive superconducting transition. The samples were simultaneously prepared under identical conditions to avoid ambiguity in the preparation history. The X-ray diffraction patterns showed that our samples have a single-phase orthorhombic structure. We observed a sharp superconducting transition of less than 0.95 K in width. T c is almost independent of Y and Er concentrations.
