SH interfacial waves between piezoelectric/piezomagnetic half-spaces with magneto-electro-elastic imperfect bonding

Abstract

This paper derives an explicit dispersion equation of SH waves propagating along the interface between a piezoelectric (PE) and a piezomagnetic (PM) half-space. It is assumed that the interface has a magneto-electro-elastic imperfect bonding. A general linear spring model, considering the spring constants of mechanical, electric and magnetic fields, simultaneously considering the coupled spring constants among the three fields, is adopted for modeling the imperfect interface properties. Results show that the analytical dispersion equation of SH interfacial waves is exactly agreement with the reported result for some limited and special cases. For the case of the combination of different spring constants, a new SH interfacial wave appears and its existence condition is discussed in detailed.
