Abstract

Here we report the synthesis of nanofibers of Tin oxide (SnO 2 ) by electrospinning method and their application as working electrodes of flexible supercapacitors. The cost effective electrospinning technique is used for the fabrication of Tin oxide nanofibers. As-spun fibers can be collected as aligned and non- aligned fiber mesh based on the geometry of the collector electrode. X-ray Diffraction pattern (XRD), Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FESEM) and Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) techniques are used for the structural and morphological characterization of as-annealed tin oxide nanofibers. Solid electrolyte cum separator for flexible supercapacitor is prepared from polyvinyl alcohol and phosphoric acid by solution casting method. The electrochemical studies are carried out to measure the performance of the supercapacitors using cyclic voltammetry (CV), galvanostatic charge discharge (GCD) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS).
