Si/Carbon nanofibers composite films have been deposited on the copper foil by means of cost-effective electrophoretic deposition (EPD). In the meantime, the distribution uniformity of Si particles in the composite materials and the bonding force between Si and CNFs can be improved through individual surface pretreatment of Si and CNFs materials. As an anode material for lithium-ion batteries, the pretreated Si/CNFs composite anode exhibits better capacity retention than the pristine one. The relationship between discharge/charge capacity and the weight ratio of Si and CNFs in the composite has been also investigated. The results show that the composite of with a weight ratio 2:1 (Si:C) shows the most stable cycle performance with a reversible capacity of 574 mAh/g after 100cycles at a current density of 400 mA/g.
