Miriaruri: nuove riflessioni

Abstract

This article discusses again the meaning of the title 'myriarouros' in Ptolemaic Egypt, examining new arguments advanced in support of the thesis that such a title indicated the possessor of 10,000 arourai of land. The interpretation of myriarouroi as royal officials is here reaffirmed.
