Planar eight-band L-shaped monopole antenna for LTE/WWAN mobile device

Abstract

By introducing a meander T-shaped feeding strip, a planar LTE/WWAN monopole antenna with eight-band operation is proposed for 4G tablet computers. The impedance bandwidths across dual operating bands approach 297 / 1323 MHz at the LTE / WWAN bands, respectively. The proposed planar monopole antenna has the antenna size of only 375 mm 3 . The measured peak gains and antenna efficiencies are approximately 2.5 / 5.3 dBi and 64 / 85 % for the LTE/WWAN bands, respectively.
