Statistical analysis of link budgets satellite communications

Abstract

The author examines a general approach to link analysis which treats entries in a link budget as random variables. Methods are examined for obtaining the probability density function (PDF), in decibels (dB), of typical terms. The individual density functions can be convolved to obtain the PDF of the quantity describing the overall link performance such as link margin or circuit availability.< >
