Summary form only given. In this paper, the authors have mentioned that their constraint-handling technique improves the solution quality without sacrificing the computational effort for nonconvex economic dispatch problems. Nevertheless, there is no validation for this statement. For the Korean power system, the authors have used the result of the nonlinear programming approach to validate the proposed IPSOs. Test system 2 can also be solved by the mixed integer quadratic programming (MIQP) approach. Since mathematical programming (MP) approaches provide guaranteed convergence, they can be taken as the benchmark.
