THz characterization of multi-walled carbon nanotube paper

Abstract

In this paper we have characterized the THz properties of a promising new material, MWNTs in a paper format. Both the transmission and reflection responses of the sample are measured using a TDS. The permittivity and permeability of the MWNT paper are extracted simultaneously. The advantage of this characterization method over other reported TDS measurements is that the non-magnetic assumption does not need to be imposed. The errors on n caused by the inappropriate assumption have been illustrated.
