Optical Add-Drop Filter Design Based on Photonic Crystal Ring Resonators

Abstract

We report here an optical add-drop filter (ADF) based on photonic crystal ring resonators. Both backward- and forward-dropping were achieved in dual-ring PCRRs with different modal symmetry. The scalability and tunability were also analyzed for optical add-drop multiplexers and electrooptical switches.
