Uplink Multi-Cell Non-Cooperative Power Allocation Game Algorithm for OFDMA Cellular Networks

Abstract

The multi-cell power allocation problem is investigated in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing access (OFDMA) cellular networks. For user fairness, a multi-cell non-cooperative power allocation game (MNPG) is defined, which gives a minimum performance guarantee for cell-edge users. Based on MNPG, an uplink distributed power allocation (UDPA) algorithm is proposed for practical system. A performance comparison is given with different user numbers and these results show that UDPA has a small reduction in cell average throughput lost but a large gain on cell-edge user throughput.
