Abstract

Abstract A marked concentration dependence was observed for the circular dichroism of poly-γ-(1-naphthylmethyl)-l-glutamate in ethylene chlorohydrin. This fact was explained in terms of the formation of the β-structure in the solution at high concentrations of the polyglutamate and the subsequent restriction of the side chain orientation relative to the dissymmetric field in the solution.
