Novel type of broadband travelling-wave integrated-optic modulator

Abstract

We propose and analyse a novel type of baseband travelling-wave integrated-optic modulator which has a broadened baseband response compared with corresponding modulators of conventional design. Numerical calculations are reported for this novel structure, and a comparison of figures of merit for the novel modulator and conventional types is given.
