Abstract

A novel fully soft switched PWM converter is proposed. By means of two auxiliary resonant inductors the current stresses in the main switches and rectifier diode are reduced. With this new resonant FSS-PWM cell the voltage stress and current stress of the boost diode are both reduced comparing with conventional ZCS-PWM converter. Hence low break-down voltage diodes can be employed to lower the conduction loss of the diode. A 1.5 kW/100 kHz prototype is made, and the theoretical analysis is verified by simulation and experiment.
