A call admission control algorithm for 802.11e EDCA-enhanced WLANs

Abstract

We propose an admission control mechanism for 802.11e WLANs that is based on the measurement of important metrics characterizing the radio channel, and is integrated with the admission control scheme introduced in the IEEE 802.11e draft standard. We present some preliminary simulation results obtained through ns- 2, allowing the appraisal of the algorithm in a simple scenario.
