A new method for ISAR motion compensation

Abstract

A novel motion compensation method for ISAR imaging using a combination of Vernier processing and Wigner-Ville distribution (WVD) analysis is presented. It employs stepped-chirp pulse as the transmission signal and takes advantage of the special Vernier processing approach. Computer simulation results show that the proposed method is superior to the conventional centroid tracking method. The performance of the proposed method in the presence of white Gaussian noise is also investigated.
