Outage probability of a turbo-coded DS/CDMA system for a mobile satellite communication system

Abstract

Outage performance of a turbo-coded CDMA system is analyzed and simulated in a multiple-beam satellite channel. From the simulation results, it is confirmed that turbo coding provides considerable coding gain over an uncoded system, and it is demonstrated that a max-log-MAP decoding algorithm is most promising in terms of performance and complexity.
