Abstract

Abstract The mean‐field approximation of the commensurate‐incommensurate (C‐IC) phase transition in the one‐dimensional Fröhlich model with a nearly half‐filled band is studied near Leung's triple point, including up to 19 harmonics of the charge‐density wave. The C‐IC transition appears to be discontinuous, and the C and 1C phases coexist in a small region of the temperature‐density plane.
