Study of real-time infrared image enhancement algorithm based on FPGA

Abstract

The paper discussed how improve the detection probability of small targets in the complicated background of low signal noise ratio, algorithm of an improved image enhancement and digital filtering are presented for improve image quality, and improve signal to noise ratio, that is achieve the suppressing background noise and enhance the purpose of small targets. For requirements of real-time infrared image processing, field programmable gate array chip used in the system of infrared digital image processing, and improved algorithm is obtain verification in the FPGA . Experimental results show that this algorithm has the features of small calculation, excellent image enhancement and real-time performance.
