Abstract

Hydrocarbon‐Bridged Metal complexes, XVIII. – Heterometallic Ethylene‐Bridged Complexes (OC) 5 ReCH 2 CH 2 Mn(CO) 5 , (OC) 5 ReCH 2 CH 2 Ru(CO) 2 Cp, (OC) 5 ReCH 2 CH 2 Os(CO) 4 CH 2 CH 2 Re(CO) 5 and (OC) 5 ReCH 2 CH 2 CH 2 Os(CO) 4 Os(CO) 4 (CO) 4 Os(CO) 4 CH 2 CH 2 Re(CO) 5 Addition of [(OC) 5 Re(C 2 H 4 )] + to the carbonylmetallates [Mn(CO) 5 ] − , [RuCp(CO) 2 ] − , [Os(CO) 4 ] 2− , [Os 3 (CO) 12 ] 2− affords the title complexes in a directed way. The dynamic behaviour of (OC) 5 ReCH 2 CH 2 Mn(CO) 5 in solution is attributed to a dyotropic exchange of the pentacarbonylmetal groups on the CH 2 CH 2 bridge.
