Optoelectronic hybrid integrated laser diode moduleusing planar lightwave circuit platform

Abstract

A planar lightwave circuit platform (PLC platform) for optoelectronic hybrid integration has been developed. This platform is a silica-on-terraced-silicon (STS) structure which consists of a silica PLC, silicon terraces for device assembly and high-speed electrical circuits. This PLC platform has been successfully applied to a 2.5 Gbit/s laser diode (LD) module.
