Seamless vertical handover between WLAN and CDMA2000 via mSCTP

Abstract

This paper presents an implementation of seamless vertical handover between WLAN and CDMA2000 networks using the recently proposed protocol- mobile Stream Control Transmission Protocol (mSCTP). A testbed based on a Linux platform has been set up to test the handover performance. In experiments, the handover delay is measured when the mobile node moves into and away from a WLAN. The results show the handovers are both soft and smooth.
