Optimal channel assignment for multi-channel multi-radio wireless networks

Abstract

This paper presents optimal channel assignment algorithms to maximize the unicast network capacity of large scale multi-channel, multi-radio, multi-hop static wireless networks under the Arbitrary Network model and the Random Network model, respectively. The network capacities are approximated by the network capacity bounds derived in the literature and the optimization problems are formulated and solved. The optimal channel assignment for the Arbitrary Network model is the subquadratic channel assignment, and that for the Random Network model takes a more complex form and is found numerically.
