Intelligent decision support for manufacturing enterprise

Abstract

A set of ongoing research activities at the Decision System Laboratory (DSL) at Stanford University is briefly described. These activities address the global issue of strategic integration from the technical point of view of developing intelligent decision support systems (IDSS) which support the management process in strategic integration. The approach is to break the global issue into three basic subissues and organize research projects to focus on the development of subsystems for these subissues with the view that total integration will proceed in stages. The three subissues are: 'Who are you?' 'Where do you play?' and 'How do you play?'.< >
