Throughput improvement for wireless multihop networks with LRED

Abstract

In wireless multihop networks, the hop-by-hop throughput is degraded when the number of hops of the networks is growing. Furthermore, not only the hop-by-hop throughput but also the end-to-end throughput is suffered from the hidden node problem, so that their performance is very poor. In this paper, we propose the method to improve the end-to-end throughput by modifying the link random early detection (LRED) algorithm based on the throughput analysis. We verify that the end-to-end throughput is improved through the simulation results.
