Amorphous Ribbons Used for a Magnetostrictive Digitizer

Abstract

It was found that the thickness of amorphous ribbons changed periodically and the period in length corresponded to the circumference of the quenching roll. The accuracy of the mass-produced digitizer was improved by taking into account this periodicity to select the even ribbons in thickness.
