A wavelength reuse OFDM-WDM-PON architecture with downstream OFDM and upstream OOK modulations

Abstract

We propose an OFDM-WDM-PON using 16QAM-OFDM signals at 10Gb/s for downstream. At ONUs, downstream OFDM signals are used for signal re-modulation by RSOA, while we choose Time Division Multiple Access for upstream transmission. The performance of the proposed PON architecture has also been discussed.
