One of the main problems in Spare Parts Supply Chain Management (SPSCM) is inadequacy of the current approaches to forecast the demand patterns [1]. According to Bangemann et al. [2], SPSCM is one of the e-maintenance functions. On the other hand, some studies illustrated that many Knowledge Management Systems (KMS) in maintenance management (MM) and e-maintenance have not been successful [3-5]. Based on resource-based view, knowledge-based view and the theory of dynamic capabilities, the purpose of this paper is to present an initial conceptual framework among the Knowledge Management (KM) capabilities for spare parts, the quality of maintenance knowledge and the bullwhip effect in SPSCM from both inter and intra organizational perspectives. The contributions of this research in KM, e-maintenance and supply chain management (SCM) literature will be useful for scholars, SCM & maintenance managers and KM, MM and SCM corporations.
