DC emission characteristic of Sc- Doped Impregnated Dispenser cathodes

Abstract

Emission properties of Scandia Doped Impregnated (SDI) cathodes tested at DC model has been investigated in close-spaced diodes with water-cooled copper anodes. Space Charge Limited (SCL) current density of over 40 A/cm 2 has been measured at 950°C b after temperature compensation for electron cooling. The life test has lasted for more than 500 hours and is going on.
