Enhanced Thermoelectric Performances of Oxalic Acid-treated Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene): Poly(4-styrenesulfonate) Free-Standing Films

Abstract

Thermoelectric properties of poly(3, 4-ethylenedioythiophene): poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) free-standing films treated with oxalic acid were investigated. The electrical conductivity was enhanced to 393 S/cm. Moreover the See beck coefficient is kept at the same level as that of pristine PEDOT:PSS film. The maximum power factor was up to 9.7 mW/(m·K 2 ) at 300 K and the estimated highest Z T was 2 × 10 -2 . It therefore provides a good way to improve the thermoelectric performances of PEDOT:PSS film.
