Abstract

Abstract Basic operational principles of synthetic aperture radar systems are reviewed, with an emphasis on the data processing requirements. The techniques of image formation for these systems are covered, using either optical or digital techniques. Examples of imagery are shown to illustrate the data processing results. SAR processing capabilities as they exist worldwide are summarized.
