Efficient resource allocation scheme for OFDMA-based relaying systems

Abstract

Relay-assisted communication can improve the quality of service (QoS) of users located at the cell boundary or the shadowed area. In this paper, we investigate the efficient resource allocation scheme for the orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) based relaying systems. To maximize system performance, the proposed scheme exploits the spatial reuse in the frequency selective fading channel, by allocating a subchannel to multiple transmissions simultaneously. Performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated by simulation. Numerical results show that the proposed scheme can increase the cell throughput while reducing the outage probability of users.
