A compact UWB bandpass Filter using pseudo-interdigital stepped impedance resonators

Abstract

A compact bandpass ultra-wideband filter using pseudo-interdigital stepped impedance resonators (PI-SIRs) and tapped input/output (I/O) is predicted and implemented with microstrip line. By adding a short stab on the I/O ports, the BPF has good performances at the whole UWB passband of 3.1 GHz - 10.6 GHz. It is shown that the UWB BPF has a smaller size in comparison of previous works. The measured bandwidth is 3.11 GHz-10.58 GHz, experimental results of the fabricated filter agree well with the predicted results.
