Abstract

The spatial quality of the Ti:sapphire amplified laser pulses is improved with a spatially filtering regenerative amplifier. Because of the high peak power of the system, 5 TW, it is necessary to limit the atmospheric beam path after pulse compression. This is accomplished by enclosing the entire compression stage and all experiments in vacuum.< >
