Abstract

Solution processed high efficiency blue phosphorescent organic light emitting diodes were developed using a phosphine oxide derivative (SPPO1) as a host material. The SPPO1 was mixed with a polyvinylcarbazole (PVK), and the optimization of the device gave a high efficiency of 11.9 cd/A at . The reduction in the aggregation of the dopant, a smooth surface morphology, and improved charge balance were responsible for the high efficiency in the PVK:SPPO1 mixed host device.
