Abstract

Abstract A new fluoride oxide glass containing TbF3 was prepared in the composition of xTbF3·20BaF2·10AlF3·(70-x)GeO2 (x=10-40). The temperature of melt was 1200 °C. The glass transition temperatures were 600–800 °C, depending on composition. Fluorescence spectra of the glasses were changed with Tb3+ concentration. The color of emission light changed from green to orange for x=10-30 and from orange to green for x=30-40.
