Temporally resolved laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy with mid-IR femtosecond pulses

Abstract

We report the first implementation of a laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy system driven by 2-μm femtosecond pulses. Ab initio modeling is used to explain the present femtosecond results and the previously reported nanosecond results.
