High-performance n-Si/α-Fe2O3 core/shell nanowire array photoanode towards photoelectrochemical water splitting

Abstract

We report n-Si/α-Fe2O3 core/shell nanowire array photoanodes exhibiting excellent performance for photoelectrochemical water splitting. The material size-related charge transfer processes and band position changes in the composite photoelectrodes were investigated.
