Abstract

By reaction of Zn(CH 3 COO) 2 ·2H 2 O. Cd(CH 3 COO) 2 -2H 2 O, or Hg(CH 3 COO) 2 with defined alcoholic polysulfide solutions the crystalline compounds (NEt 4 ) 2 [Hg(S 6 ) 2 ] (1), [(PPh 3 ) 2 N] 2 [Cd(S 6 ) 2 ]·CH 3 CN (2), (PPh 4 ) 2 [Zn(S 6 ) 2 ] (3) and (PPh 4 ) 2 [Hg(S 4 ) 2 ] (4) could be obtained. 1-4 were characterised spectroscopically (IR, Raman, UV/VIS) and by X-ray structure analyses.
