Abstract

Abstract The liquid‐liquid transition T ll has been examined by using differential scanning calorimetry as the tool of measurement. The results presented show that for the case of polystyrene, the T ll event appears to be an artifact caused by the presence of volatile components. Purified samples of polystyrene, polydienes, and poly(1‐butene) do not show the T ll transition.
